Default Installed the 422s this weekend

Installed the Prog 422s this weekend. Dropped my custom about 2 inches. Really like the way it looks. Still have some tweaking to do on the how low and pre-load settings...but so far, really satisfied. I have the drop-ins for the front, but kinda like the way it is now, so I guess we'll see....

Nice - how do you like the rear? I've been thinking of going that route instead of the shotgun shock. The shotgun is just so unbelievably expensive! I have the stock shock with a lowering kit right now and I bounce all over the highway like I'm on a pogo stick.

Thx guys! I'm really liking the look & yeah...2 inches can be a lot sometimes...lol... The ride is a little stiff right now, but I have them all the way down and didn't change the default pre-load, so I still have some room to play....

Forgot to say I am interested in the ride as well as I have never run those shocks and people are always asking me about them. Soften up the pre load and see what happens.

RWOOWER Looks good after a few rides you will notice a big dirrerence in the handling.

When I first did my FXSTC with the 422's and drop in springs I set it at 2" drop front and rear. It rode a little rough after about 400 miles I raised the rear from the 9/16" that is the low setting to 5/8" and put another washer in the front end under the PVC spacers.
That made a big difference and the bike smoothed right out.
I weigh 170lbs and left the 422's at the setting progressive sets them at I thinks its the softest.
All of my riding is solo and they work out good. If I did alot of 2 up I would put some more preload on the springs, like 1 turn.
The 422's over the stock shocks is night and day, the bike handles 100% better and at low speed turns is where you can really feel the difference.

Art your bike looks really low and really nice I might add. I have a 07 FXSTC and have always thought it looked too tall. I'm 6'2 so leg length isn't a problem I just think it would look better lower. I'm ASSuming you guys are talking about Progressive brand shocks for the rear? How much $$ we talking about here?

I've had the 422's on my bike for over 3 years and love them! The 422's handle my weight of 220lbs & my wife of 135lbs and all our gear ( 40+ lbs) for over night rides.
I'm thinking of putting new Progressive springs in my front forks.
Anyone have any experience with them, ride quality etc?

Thanks....
