Changing grips.. How hard?

scale of 1-10? I say it's a 3, but it's all relative, because some are more experienced than others. You're gonna need to pull apart the right-side switch housing, loosen and pull the throttle & idle cables on that end, then reinstall and readjust them. Not especially difficult. I'd set aside an hour or so for it. Get yourself a service manual for your year and model, if you don't already have one. And yes, shim the brake lever...

I'll reiterate this again. Use a piece of breakfast cereal box cardboard. If you don't you'll be buy'n a new switch! LOL

The hardest thing for me was the fear of the unknown. Once you get it in your head to do it and do it you will shake your head and say that was to dam easy. I also have a ST deluxe (2012) and it took me about one hour and that was being super careful. Things that I did was to cover my tins with a couple of towels. Test fit before glue. Make a mark with a Sharpe for a locator's mark. Instead of glue I used hairspray on my none throttle grip. I also removed it with compressed air. That way you do not have to cut a perfectly good stock grip up with a knife. Be careful not to drop the two brass ends on the throttle cables. Removed mine one at a time and held in place with roach clips while I removed the stock grip.It just slips right off.The set of grips I bought(sac) came with its own throttle sleeve. Just test fit first.
