Finally a Bones that I really like,, IMO thats the tins and seat the Bones should have had from MoCo.

Nice looking ride.....

I like Ur bags OK but IMO a set of basketweave bags off the Heritage springer to match Ur seat would really set Ur bike apart from the rest.
Just me..

So what exactly is the motivation for your exhaust upgrade, when much of the "upgrade" part is a nice loud rumble? That's usually a huge part of the decision. I'm sure you've read many of the exhaust threads here. How close are the stock pipes to failing? Personally, I would not fork over the bucks for a new system that was predominately chosen for being quiet. Perhaps some tame slip-ons would be more appropriate. Just curious....

I'm looking to do a Stage 1 upgrade at the same time that I do the cam-chain tensioner upgrade with some new cams. Exhaust is a big part of that if enhanced breathing is the goal. Better scavenging isn't necessarily contingent on stupid-loud sound. Might as well do it all at once if I'm going to spend the $$$ on an ECU re-mapping.

The stock exhaust is far below the limit. As something of an indication, the Termi "race only" exhaust on my Duc 999S passed easily. I am trying to get some enhanced breathing without a fist full of $250.00 noise violation tickets.

The D&D FatCats are the same way. Tinny. Very! Some like em , I hate mine!

V&H Big Radius 2:1 or a ProPipe might fit the bill. Both are pretty deep sounding w/o be overly loud.

Thanks for the opinions. I'm thinking ProPipe.

I have V&H 2-1 and don't feel it's too loud.

My Big Radius 2-1 is respectable but not too loud IMO. There is also a quiet baffle available. Mine is standard. I have heard sound clips of the ProPipe but not in person. Sounds good even in the UTube videos. You can call up the V&H tech support people and ask some questions regarding sound pressure levels. They are usually very helpful. Go to the website for the phone number www.vanceandhines.com

I'm sure other manufacturers can provide the same sort of info.

I just got the big shots staggered 2-2, they are pretty loud but sound great.
Do police actually ticket people for loud pipes? I mean, isn't a harley supposed to be a bit loud? I guess it's like a window tint ticket, they'll write it up if they've got nothing else on you?

Can't go wrong with any v&h setup from those I've heard. Good luck!

It's more like a Check-Stop. The set up the mic's in a large pull-off area and pull over every bike that comes by. You pull in and they measure dbA at idle and then at an RPM determined by the number of cylinders.

The Edmonton Police Service will charge violators at three benchmark noise levels tested with the motorcycle stationary.:

Violators in excess of 92 dbA at idle for all motorcycles
Violators in excess of 96 dbA at 2000 rpm for motorcycles having less than 3 cylinders or more than 4 cylinders
Violators in excess of 100 dbA at 5000 rpm for motorcycles with 3 or 4 cylinders.
The fine for violation of this bylaw is $250.00.
