I paid about $10K for a 2004 softail standard last year. I shopped dealers all over KY (all but one dealer in the state) and some in Ohio, Tennessee and North Carolina - that was the best deal I found once they gave me way too much in trade for my sportster.

Personally, I wouldn't want one of the newer, fuel injected ones, but if you have somebody else work on it, that might be OK.

Sounds like a fair price, if its ready to roll. 34K miles is not bad, IMO I'd rather buy one that's been ridden that one with low miles that's just sat for Yrs.

check to see if....

Oils changed lately.
Hows the tires, a new set is anywhere from $350- $550 pends on who and where U get them.
Also check the brakes for wearage, and see if the lines have been flushed if possible.
Any mods done, They can check the Computer to see if work was done at a dealer. If not get the ORG owners number and call him.

Most important as stated above make sure its had new Tensioners put in or gear cams installed. If not, new tensioners IMO are a must have done with 34k on her.
