Rear wheel troubles
this winter im doing quite a few mods to my softie. gonna powder the front end, powder some motor parts. New wheels. and possibly think about a new paint job. this probably will get held off till next winter.
Im going to be putting a 2007 or 08 cross bones rear wheel on my 2006 softail standard. i tried mocking it up the other day only had a short amount of time and when i got the wheel on it wouldn't spin well. i figured out that the 66 tooth sprocket was spaced over too far and was hitting the swing arm. The wheel still had the smaller 66 tooth sprocket on that the 07s and later come with. My bike the bastard child 06 is a 70 tooth still and it has no offset where as the 66 tooth looks to have about a half inch off set. ive got a couple of questions for ya'll
A. has anyone done this before or know someone who has and what all troubles did they run into?
B. how much Clearance do i need between the tire and the belt? Is there a lot of side to side movement of the belt when moving?

I had an 07 fatboy rear wheel on my 06 FXST. I used my stock pulley with a 1/2" spacer. I also had to buy a set of "normal" (00-07 softail) axle spacers to make it all fit. With these two changes it was direct bolt on. Hope this helps.
