I just bought the BAL1 for me and my dads Night Trains and we both thought these things would be much brighter. Even on the highest setting I wasn't too impressed. The LEDs definitely look better than whats on the bike stock but very far from too bright. We both have the rear blinker lights as brakes too and the BAL1 does match those where before they totally made the stock brake light look horrible. If anyone wants to buy mine...give me a shout. I think I'll go for the BAL2

Just installed a BAL3r this week. It is exactly what the name implies...well worth the $ IMO. Set it to medium run and flash/solid brake. It gives you a headache if you stare to long

Hey Digital,

When I looked at the BAL website, I think it says that these aren't compatible with 2012 softails? Am I reading it wrong or did you have to make mods to make it work. Thanks.

Cool

Hey guys, watch out! Yes the BAL lights are really cool and extremely effective....BUT. They are not yet comparable with 2012 and later Softail models. There will be electrical system issues if used. Wait for the promised 2012 compatible light.

I have had mine on my 2012 Fat Boy Lo for several months with no issues. When you order just make sure that you tell Bright *** Lights that it is for a 2012 and they will ship it with an adapter that goes between the light plug and the factory plugin spot. It's purpose is to put a slight load on the circuit so that the ECM thinks a regular bulb is still plugged in. That way the ECM won't throw a code thinking that the bulb is out. Works like a charm and I haven't had any problems with mine.
