Default Cables to long

Ok a couple of months ago I installed 16 inch apes on my springer classic. I ordered the new cables and they where fine with the stock risers 3.5 but the stock risers are junk so now I'm swapping them out and going with the LA choppers 1.5 question is what the hell am I going to do with the extra cable length I have? I haven't done it yet but it sure looks like I'm going to have alot of extra cable left. I orderd some aftermarket 3.5 just in case but I sure like the looks of a shorter riser. Any suggestions?

J,
If your throttle and idle cables are braided, you should be able to zip-tie them to your bars so they follow the contour as well as your brake cable - it will take up some of the excess length. You just have to check carefully for any binding of the cables throughout the entire range of motion of the bars from stop to stop, paying the most attention to full-right deflection. That is where binding is most likely to occur. If you get any binding and your throttle doesn't snap back freely, you can't keep 'em fastened to your bars. If not, you're good to go. If your cables aren't steel-braided, you'll probably bind. Can't do anything about the clutch cable. Obviously, if anyone out there has tried it or knows more than I do, their opinion trumps mine. Good luck.

Usually risers are measured to the center of the clamping area. Not sure if that is how you measured.

Yes I know how to measure them but I guess they dont? The thing that makes me nervous is they claim that these bolt right up to the triple clamp but with these damn springers I sure hope I dont need adaptors!

I just sent a link to this to LA Choppers. I am sure they will get back to you.

With a little creative routing, you should be able to hide a few inches no problem.....under the tank is a good place to burn a bit of throttle and idle cable and running the clutch cable across to the left frame rail will handle that......front brake should be fine, just split the excess evenly on both sides. FYI, we measure our risers from the bottom to the base of the groove.....

Ok lets me see what I can hide...Good to know thats how you measure them it really doesnt hurt me that I measured them to the center of the riser thats how I was told to measure them but ither way looks like im 2 inches lower than i was. Biggest question is the la-7410-00b just bolt right up with no adaptors correct?
