First, mine isn't from Leatherworks.
There's been times I wish it was a 5" but it'd leave very little foot peg for my wife. So I'm glad it's just a 3" one.

I can testify to the toughness of these bags. My deluxe decided to take a nap in my garage last week, and after I went running into the garage to see what the $*#@ that loud noise was, I saw my bike laying flat on its side. After I pulled the bike upright, I started inventorying the damage.
Other than a dented passing lamp trim ring, a bent heel shifter and bent handlebars, everything else on the bike escaped unscathed. What happened is that the Leatherworks bag held it's shape and totally supported the rear of the bike, keeping everything, including the primary cover, from touching the ground. And the bag only had a couple of scuff marks on it that disappeared when I put some leather conditioner on it. Amazing!
