Thanks for the info Milty. Do you know why they say to replace the rockers? And, your front end lowering kit, was that something you did, was it fairly easy??? Again, your bike inspired me.....

i don't have a crossbones, but my springer classic is the same front end as the crossbones and i didn't change my rockers and everything seems fine. i've got the burly lowering kit and i can't tell any difference between it and the stock springs.

Thanks for the props.
There are people on here with much more experience with the proper rake and trail. I was told I should look at replacing the lower rockers to correct the degree of rake. I haven't done that and knock on wood things are running fine. Smooth on the highway, I could let go of the handlebars. The lowering kit is pretty straight forward you could change out the springs with a buddy. Do some research using the search function for springer rockers and make up your own mind. There is alot of useful info.

Sweet bike. I agree with you. The ride is not much different from stock little more rigid I find. There are guys on here with differing opinions then ours. Just want the op to be informed of what there is out there.

Default 21"

Scottiedawg - Definitely go with 21" if you are not going to use a fender.

TQ745 - Love the wheels!

Milty - Your bike looks awesome!

The 21in wheel will increase the trail, meaning it will become more stable at high speeds, but at very low speeds feel a bit sloppy. The front wheel will try to flop to one side or the other.

The lowering kit will bring the trail back in closer to stock, just like the changing the rockers would. The lowering kit would be the way to go IMO if you cared at all. The trail isn't changed that much and the difference is subtle.

As far as an opinion on the 18 or 21 my vote sways to the 21. It's something I have planned for the future myself.

Mitly, that truly is an inspiring Bones man!

Go with the 21" - You'll be happy with the look you get in return going up to that size. Ryd Safe!

Is that an 18" rear tire?
