I don't personally believe that the seats "break-in" and become more comfortable. Rather, I believe that our asses become more tolerant of the seats over time. I say this because I bought a well used LePera off eBay last winter (that somebody else couldn't tolerate). In the beginning of the season it killed my ass after just an hour of riding. By the end of the season it took 2 hours to kill my ass. Great looking seats but they really sucks for long hours in the saddle. Bottom line seems to be that awesome looking seats suck for comfort & ugly-ass, or big-ass seats are comfy as hell!

Put it on ebay. Recoupe as much as you can and buy a Mustang Day Tripper. Only a little bit bigger, still very low profile, much more comfortable.

Did a non stop run from Bordeaux to Calais, about 500 miles with my lepera barebones and my arse was numb after 70 miles. Ride through the pain barrier and its ok.- I think they call it form over function ,cos it looks damn fine!

buy one of those air bag seat cover things and use it for long hauls and take it off when you get there. Most of the time you have to sacrifice comfort for looks. If you really wanted comfort you should have got the Road King. Ugly but comfortable.

Maybe eat alot of burger king or mcdonalds ... Get some junk in the trunk for extra padding... :-)

I wouldn't mind keeping and changing out seats but changing this seat is a pain in the ass!!!!! You have to unscrew the fender to lift it up and remove the stock studs etc..... Like I said looks good but feels horrible. Not worth it at all.

It's called the Bare Bones for a reason. Best looking seat. You'll get more used to it.

I have a le pera king cobra with gel and its awful. My bare bones without the gel is way better but still not much padding there. I think gel only works for some people. For me it doesnt, definitely stiffer with the gel.
