That's another beauty of the Shotgun, you can raise the bike and the jack slides under with a lot of clearance.

I bought a J&S Jack and had the same concerns. I ask them about the weight of the bike being supported by the shocks while sitting on their Jack, they said they've raised thousands of bikes and never had a problem but if I was concerned they would send me some bumpers to put under my bike, so I took them up on it.

Never even thought of this as a problem. Had the bike on the lift all winter, and tons of times before that and never gave it a second thought. Never had an issue and it never once seemed unstable. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Guess I'm a little confused...I've got a 2010 Deluxe. I have a $99.00 lift I bought from a local shop. The rear cross member of the lift sits just in front of the shock and the front cross member is about an inch and a half behind where the frame starts to bend upwards at the front of the bike. This gives the motor(I think the heaviest part of the bike) perfect placement over the stand.

Did not know about the frame protectors. Will get a pair for the Fatboy and I guess it would not hurt to use them on the Ultra either.

I seen in one reply about a "sear's jack", do you mean like one of those small little hydraulic jacks? I can't think of what to call them becuase I am wondering if one of those will go under my bike since I lowered it. It makes cleaning the bike and those wheels and white walls while its up off of the ground so much more eisier. I can spin the wheel as I clean it, I am to damn old and sore to be on my knees bent over that thing trying to clean it.
lowered my wifes bike 2'' front and rear , drive it up on some 1x what ever is handy and my J&S jack goes right under , only thing I would be concerned about is getting the jack lifting points as far out as posible and not in the center of the bike , seems like it would be more stable
