Softail on the bike lift...where?

I bought a J&S Jack and had the same concerns. I ask them about the weight of the bike being supported by the shocks while sitting on their Jack, they said they've raised thousands of bikes and never had a problem but if I was concerned they would send me some bumpers to put under my bike, so I took them up on it.

Guess I'm a little confused...I've got a 2010 Deluxe. I have a $99.00 lift I bought from a local shop. The rear cross member of the lift sits just in front of the shock and the front cross member is about an inch and a half behind where the frame starts to bend upwards at the front of the bike. This gives the motor(I think the heaviest part of the bike) perfect placement over the stand.

Since I lowered my bike I can't even get my jack under it anymore. I have to figure something new to do to get it under it, like pulling the bike up and a few 2 by 4's or something. When I did use the jack though I just folded up a towel and laid it on the arms of the jack, never left a mark! I seen in one reply about a "sear's jack", do you mean like one of those small little hydraulic jacks? I can't think of what to call them becuase I am wondering if one of those will go under my bike since I lowered it. It makes cleaning the bike and those wheels and white walls while its up off of the ground so much more eisier. I can spin the wheel as I clean it, I am to damn old and sore to be on my knees bent over that thing trying to clean it.
