What year Night Train??????
Hey everyone. Im new to this fourm and lookin to buy my first Harley. But first i would like to get some opinions on a Night Train. My first question is, what was the last year for a carbureted Night train? what are the good/bad things between Carb and EFI? and which would be the "most perfered" Carb vs EFI? any opinions/ comments would be much appreciated! Thanks

Carb was still available in 05, I think it was 06 that saw the end of the carb. You'll get opinions that go both ways. Some guys love carbs and swear they are superior in every way, and that they can rebuild one on the side of the road if need be. I prefer EFI because that's what I have and all I've known. I think it is infinitely more tunable, and in the end will get you better milegge, more power, and increased rideability. With the popularity of the smart phone, I'm sure there is a guy in a computer lab somewhere developing an App to connect your phone to your tuner. Then us EFI guys will be able to fix on the side of the road too. Bike running a bit lean? There's an App for that!
IMHO, (and I know nothing about everything), 05 is the best year! Good luck, you'll love the train! Take a spin by the train pic thread and you'll see what I mean. Some of the best looking bikes on this forum!

Last year they were made was 2009.
In 2006 they gave it a wide 200 mm tire an fender. And in 2007 the 96 ci wa standard I believe. So in my opinion going a bit newer you get a better bike with netter goodies. It all depends on what you want to spend and what you willing to spend after the initial investment. I have an 06 and love it.
