However, I need help now.

Can't seem to get the bottom screw to thread in. Keeps wanting to cross thread cause it's at the wrong angle.

Any thoughts?
Don't force it. An old trick (if you don't have a tap set) is to take a similar bolt and grind grooves length-wise in it to act as a tap to clear the threads out of the plate. You probably dicked up the threads (it doesn't take much). Loosen everything up and try again...

I think I may have gotten the wrong housing, called softbrake and waiting on a call to come back. I'm not happy at the moment that the bottom screw wont go in at all.

Motown your bike is sick by the way, big fan. Nice to see the socal look in the D
Thanks Red, what kind of style you working towards on yours? SB and Sampsons are a good start for mods.

Us Michigan guys got to represent...just dont tell me that you are a State fan lol

Lol, I bleed maize and blue don't worry. Rich rod years were torture and I have a bad feeling for next couple of season but we'll get through it.

I did dick up the threads on the bottom one just slightly so I used the original bolt and held it nice and steady with out the cover and got it to bottom out. Then I got everything in place and tilted the housing forwards to angle the hole to line up and threaded the bottom hole about half in. Started the top 2 and then bottomed out the bottom. She tightened up nicely and looks the cats meow. Big fan of this mod. Only thing I can think is I left the wire on the side out of the clip and I caught it just before I started again. Not sure how much that matters but it's on now. Don't really want to take it off again though, will definitely need new bolts when I do, damn small *** hex heads aren't worth a ****.

Either way I'm happy.

I'm looking to do a SoCal style but modified. I like the stock wheels so I'll likely keep those. Waiting on my Samson long tails 33". Should be in mid next week, a week late but hey they were on back order. Then I want to drop the front and shotgun the rear. Detach bags are on the way, 42D boss bags I got from a member here which only concern there is the bracket that's left over when I remove them. Might swap to an easy bracket for looks. Other than that I just need an air cleaner in a retro style and maybe to some beach bars or apes not sure yet.

F Rich Rod...in the F'ing face! lol

I have easy brackets on my bags. Its so easy to swap the fender bolts that you dont even need to leave the docks on if you dont want.

The only thing you cant change is the stand off distance from the fender. Some people dont like how far they stick out but it works for me with my axle covers on the swingarm. I scraped a set on my old set up because they rubbed the bags.

If you want a pic let me know

I must have gotten lucky cause I ordered mine last wednesday or thursday I think, went out last friday and got it today. Not bad considering the holiday. And they called me back a little bit ago and were very informative of what it could have been, but I got it so its all good. Great service though.

Motown, can you post a pic of the brackets and mounts? and which bags are you running?
