Stuff on the engine... Hard water stains?
I wasn't sure where to post this and this forum section has been helpful so I figured I would post it here.
I noticed that I have some white stuff around different parts of my engine. I have not actually washed it since I bought it 3 months ago. They washed it when I bought it and I have been using Pledge to keep er clean.
Does anyone know what this might be? It won't come clean when I try to clean it with soap and water (I just tried to clean this one section a few times). It almost looks like hard water stains but I am not sure.
If I can't get it clean, what would be the best way to make it look better? Paint it? Flat Black?
Here are some pics of it on various parts of the engine:
Sorry if this belongs in the "Detailing Section" but I never post there and it doesn't seem to get much activity.

Never heard of S100 but I will check it out. I'm wondering if I need to paint over it or something.

Yea, I just looked it up and apparently the HD stores stock it so I am going to run down in the morning and buy some. Good excuse to get a ride in in the morning also.

Yep its hard water stains. You can tell by the puddle ring on the case between the jugs.
You gotta dry that bitch when you wash it. Use a leaf blower or and air compressor or the shop vac... or ride 85 for 5 miles and turn around and do it again.
Spray it down with simple green and scrub it with a good detailing brush. Dry it off good and spray it with S-100 from the dealer when its cooled off. Ask the parts guy about S-100 he should know.
$20 and a little time and it will look as good as the day you bought it.
