First thing you need to do is figure out what you want, what your cando on your own, or need help getting done.
Look around at other bikes and see what strikes your fancy, then when you have some idea what you want for your bike, start looking for postings about what interests you. When your not sure of something start asking questions.
The guys, and gals here are more than willing to help you out once you have a "direction" to go in. But your first "mission" will beto figure out which way that is.

i personally started with exhaust and intake. more air in, more out. not to mention the performance gain, good luck, do what you like, and can afford..

i know i would like intake, exhaust, but i was told i had to do ignition as well?.... Also i have been looking through some of the online stores and they are not user friendly as far as model specific parts. Being in iraq limits me to online shopping.
I am pretty mechanically inclined, and can do a bunch of the wrench turning myself that isnt the issue. and money really isnt the issue. I just want a comfortable bike with power on command, and tasteful appearance mods. By that i mean, new seat(im 6'4') different handlebars, backrest for the wife[X(]and some other small things to start with.. anyone have any good websites to cuise over to and get some ideas..

alright, let me start off by saying while everyone was snuggling in there warm beds(im in iraq), i was lurking on the site today.
i got a bunch of useful information about the stage 1 kits which will be my first performance mod, but my biggest complaints
about my bike is leg room, and back support for my passenger. So i guess what i am going to be needing to search for are a few things to start off with.
1.) need a good website for SEATS
2.) a good website for hard saddle bags
3.) are there any shops in houston that do dyno tuning?

thanks for the input guys.

http://www.mustangseat.com Check out Vintage wide solo. The seat will move you back about 2". The passenger pilon is also very comfortable.

Other then some pipes for some bark I'd start with comfort. That'll keep you happy while riding. After that I guess it's your choice between appearance or performance. But comfort has to come first for me.

Try www.denniskirk.com for seats and many other parts. I love their print catalog as well for "browsing". They have a nice selection on different brands of seats and you can get an idea what you want. Once you know do a search or ask on here and I'm sure you can find a best price from another vendor.

The Drag Specialties 'Fat Book' is another great reference and guide to after market parts: http://www.dragspecialties.com/

Most of the dealers do. Stubbs, Woodlands, Texan, and I would think Mancuso does too. Not too sure what smaller shops dyno though.

By the way, cool avatar.
