softtail w/ memphis bat wings
Hi all,
For owners of softails w/ memphis shades fairings, could you be kind to post some pic's.
Was thinking about swapping out my heritages shield with fairings and wanted to see some pic's with a few different angles. front and side shots.
also beside asthentics, do they provide better wind protection
Thanks

I put a Hoppe quadzilla fairing on my heritage. the biggest difference i noticed was the reduced wind hitting my hands. I rode about 250 miles yesterday in temps ranging from the low 40's to mid 50's. In the morning when it was in the 40's I rode about 30 miles on the highway. My fingers still got cold and a little numb but not like they use to with the stock windshield. Never thought I'd want a radio while riding but I have to say I'm enjoying that too.

I had a MS bullet fairing but it directed air right into my head....Their stuff is good quality an I like their mounting system but it's pricey. I picked up one of the $250 ebay bat wings an it's taking some work to get it ready to paint...I wanted a radio an the MS doesn't have provisions for a stereo. I'm getting tired of dealing with the imperfections in the cheapie I bought an may just stick with a windshield an get a soundbar.
You can get different height windshields an get them that have that flair/kick out on top to help push the wind over your head but still have it short enough to look over.

I was there about a year ago.
I came into some extra cash and since the weather was getting colder I started looking for a fairing so as to gain better hand protection from the wind.
I was leaning toward Memphis Shades until I looked at a Heritage with one installed.
It looked OK, but frankly it's just a simple shell, there's not much substance there.
Then I looked at a bike that had what appeared to be a Reckless fairing setup on it.
Once I saw the Reckless fairing the Memphis Shades one just seemed unappealing.
I mean it was kinda like test driving a Ford Fusion then getting behind the wheel of a Lincoln MKZ.
They are both nice cars but once you drive the Lincoln, if you can afford it, that's the way to go.
I guess what I'm saying is; IMO I would wait to buy a fairing until you could afford a full fairing like a Reckless or one of the other brands that are out there.
As for does it provide better wind protection?
I can only speak of the Reckless fairing; but as far as a Reckless fairing goes, absolutely.
Here's a link to my fairing search last year:
