Default How does a Quarter ride?

I finally gonna get a windshield or fairing. Coming back from Kansas City awhile back there was 30 mi/hr winds and I was driving right into it at 65 mph. It beat the **** outta me. I am going with quick release with what ever I get. I have never rode a bike with a windshield so I have not clue.
Anyone have any experience with this?

I've been riding behind fairings and windshields for over 50 years. They are as good as they are big! The slipstream takes the shortest route around anything we put in its way, so a small fairing or shield will give you small protection.

That 1/4 fairing looks great but will give only limited protection IMHO, especially if you ride long distances and at highway speeds, or in cold/wet weather. On my Sportster my choice is the qr taller H-D compact windshield. It's fine up to well over 80mph and in all weathers, in my experience.

I have a Dart wind screen that is about as tall as the one you've posted but not as wide. It did not help much on the highway. If I were going distance on the interstate I'd want a bigger shield.

I am very pleased with my national cycle flyscreen, not a quick disconnect, but it absolutely makes a difference you can feel. It takes the hit off of the chest without buffeting. No it won't help much with rain or bugs but I typically wear a full face. Could not put a big shield on this bike

Hello,

I have that HD Quarter fairing on my Iron, it's a beauty although not exactly 'quick' release. It keeps the wind away from your chest but it directs it to your eyes/forehead. Not a big problem though . Above 75mph you'll feel some buffeting.

I have the dart flyscreen on my bike. It does a great job of taking the wind/pressure off the chest at highway speeds and leaves clean air around the helmet with no buffeting. I also wear a full face helmet all the time.

I have the memphis shades cafe fairing. I'm 5'8" and the wind hitts me right at the collar bone on the highway. no buffering of my full face helmet.
