I like plain leather but would like to find it in the natural tan to match the rest of my leather items like the seat and the tank console.

Wouldn't studs etc. become little hot spots being metal and transferring and storing the heat?

This summer I only once had issues with the blistering heat rising up at stop signs and caused a heat rash on my leg on a two day ride. Other days it was Sooo Hott that all of me was sweltering and I didn't notice the hot heat from the y tube cause it was frickin hot all over. That two day stretch it was 102 during a 4 hour ride. I stopped as often as I needed. We actually would stand inside of the gas station and eat our ice cream just to be in air conditioning. I figured out a way to stash a cup of ice in my compartment and sipped on that as much as possible too.

Damn, I sure could use a hot day to ride right now! 28 degrees when I got up today.

I feel you JohnnyC about the heat rash on the inside of the thighs, right worse than left. In Daytona a couple weeks ago I had to cut my engine 3 times on Main Street in traffic as it was too painful.

I think I'm leaning towards studs and no concho (sounds like a male escort agency!). I have the Capt Itch saddlebag cup holder with conchos so the bike's probably got enough frilly stuff on it.

For my bike I went plain but since you have the studs on your bike I would think that would look best. BTW you can customize them your self and have a unique look.

I bought mine off e-bay for I believe $45 and it has the studs which I like. I certainly noticed the difference with the heat deflection. My bike didn't seem to get any hotter. Now that's it's winter time, I took it off and enjoy the extra warmth.

In my opinion, you match what's on your ride.

Here is an odd thought. Might the crotch cooler/heat shield actually help you warm your hands when you're riding in cold weather? If you're able to put a hand between the leather and the engine - who knows - maybe it holds just enough heat to help you a little. Weird thought, I admit, but **** like that just pops into my head sometimes.

We went with the Conchos and Studs to keep the theme the same on our '12 Heritage.

I can feel the difference and so can my wife when she is on the back, when we did not have the Crotch cooler it would get blistering hot for both of us.

I've decided to order the plain leather with studs and no concho. Thanks for suggestions, will post up pics when it arrives and I figure out how to take off my seat! ( I'm learning to be a wrench wench).

+1.....

Thinking the Concho's may interfere with Ur legs.. Plus if the metal on them gets hot and being bigger, they could retain more heat which could burn Ur legs.

Thinking just the Spots with plain leather (no Basket weave) on them would look better.

Hey Lauren thank's for reminding me to order one. I just got the super reduced reach seat and because it's narrow at the crotch and pushes you slightly forward I've been burning the heck outta my thighs! Now I can't wait to get it on my bike!
