Default Brake Caliper Cover Question

Any of you all put one on your bike? There alot cheaper than putting new chrome calipers on, but are they durable? Will they hold up or is it a cheap look? Advice appreciated

Lynn

IMHO....They look very bulky....I thought about them for awhile, but changed my mind after seeing them on different bikes...

I appreciate the info. I just put new chrome wheels on the bike and a new polished steel rotor on it and Im thinking about changing the black brake caliper.

Thanks, Lynn

I'm with billvaughn, I think they look too big and cheezie (sp?).
I also have some reservations about how they could affect the calipers ability to shed heat.

I like chrome, but prefer to replace parts with chrome where ever possible as opposed to covering them up with chrome "boxes." I guess I like to see the workings of the bike, and it’s kinda cool when it’s all clean and shiny. IMHO

I also am getting ready to make the plunge to chrome calipers and would not even consider a cover. Right now I have a chrome pulley cover on my ride and that's going too I do have to admit that the pulley cover Was good looked good and no problems Its one of the better covers that work. I believe in chrome for chrome and no covers I even put in a chrome regular which looks much better than any cover made. My two cents is forget the covers most of the time there bulky and do not look very good

Lynn,
Just wondering how you feel about the polished rotor. I've been thinking about it, but am concerned that after a while the brake pads will scratch it up and it won't look much different than the stock. Any comments would be appreciated. Which brand rotor did you get? Thanks.

Chris

the area where the pad hits will be just like it is on your bike now its the area that is no hit by the pads that will stay polished
