Rocker C Build
Well I finally got all the parts I need for the mods I've been planning (for 2yrs!). Bike is torn down and putting the front end on this week (HHI WG). Got lots of help and inspiration last yr from the rocker folks and softail community (thanks JoJo and Trust Nobody). Lots of problems with vendors and their bad / wrong parts and info (wtf)!
First question I have:
Has anyone used the DK Customs 3in tank lift kit (with the 1in rear lift) on the Rocker along with the HHI WG Triple Trees? I'm hitting the tank in every possible configuration (except stock) and am getting ready to mod the stock rear tank mount if there's no better way. Hoping someone has already done this and has the best solution.
Any help is (as always) greatly appreciated.

I'm still running the stock forks with a 2" lift kit.
Have you tried removing the rear lift and raising the front less than 3" to see if you have the clearance to use either a 1.5" or 2" lift with the WG triple trees?

Hey Kowan. I've tried the rear kit at 1/2in and without any rear lift (comes with 2 1/2in spacers). The front lift kit is only for 3in (not optional for 2in like some other kits) so can only swing back and forth on the 3in rods. Have seat clearance issues as well (Heartland kit) so tight fit all around. As far as I can tell right now I need to pull the tank back away from the trees or shorten the internal fork stop (not easy - have to disassemble the front end and weld material into the race or fork stop plate). This was supposed to be easy..lol
Hmmmm....would slotting the rear mounting hole on the tank so it can slide a little back and removing the rear lift help with clearance?
I'm thinking of doing a 3".
As for the heartland seat, I had to bend the metal tab on the front of the seat to make it fit. Had to do it to both heartland seats I've used.
Hope that helps
Can't wait to see it done!

I'm not wanting to slot the rear tank mounting hole just yet because there's not much material on there to move the tank back far enough. Also, I think it could still allow the tank to slide forward and hit the trees on fast stops (lots of weight in a full tank could mean scratched paint). But your idea is good because its essentially what I'm thinking when I say I want to lengthen the mounting tab..

Yea..looks like it might work if its lower in the front (front of tank rounded so taller means tanks closer) but the rear lift is supposed to pull the tank back "up to 1/2in" it says from DK Customs. I really want the 3in lift in the front and 1in in the rear so trying to see if someone with our trees went 3in up front. At least I know I can go 2in if I need to...thanks.
