Default Dash / Instruments must go

I'm building a really stripped down EVO Fatboy and I think I want the dash gone.
I need some ideas to cover the gap between the tanks and birds nest of wires.

Maybe a Leather cover, fab a metal panel, panel from a newer bike (Cant remember which model has that metal cover without the speedo), plant a tree in there. **** I don't know.

Need some ideas please. What have you seen?

I'd do the metal work and do a removable metal strip and the strip would have some wild pin-striping on it or some fancy machine work

+1 on the metal strip. But if you're doing a stripped down bike you may be able to eliminate a lot of the wires, and relocate what you can't. Then weld in over the gap and fill and paint it. That would have the most finished appearance, and set off the stripped down look. IMO a panel would still be adding clutter.

RWD makes a sweet low profile dash for pre 2010 FBs.

Thanks Guys. Honky good to see you still hangin out in here. That panel rocks but for $250???I got my tanks for a $100. I think I might tweek a blackline cover like you did. My bike will prolly end up looking alot like yours. Got my Shotguns on the bench, stretched tanks off and found some old 95 Heritage flatsides off ebay. Rear fender gonna be chopped and no front fender. Leaning on a 23" front wheel though. Just gotta do it. Cant decide on on fat spokes or a contrast cut style.

I dont have the ***** for a jocky shift. I've been foot shifting for too long to start re-learning that ****. Switching from bike to bike will be bad enough the way it is. I'll let you bad asses have that cool ****. HaHa!

i think if you were some kind of genius. tin over the hole put a i-pad or i-phone type device that is recessed or inlayed into the tank, something that you could remove when your done riding. use some kind of really uber sophisticated app that shows what your gauges would show and be able to turn on and off your bike. would be kinda neat. it's really far out there. it's early and it's sunday. my brain only works mon-fri 8-5. sorry if it sounds like i'm rambling and making no sense.

No problem. I have a terrible headache too for some reason. I shoulda slept a few more hours.Dam dogs!!! HaHa. The Iphone thingy sounds trick but I am far from a genius, and its the wrong direction for my old sled. Maybe an early nap will fix my head.
