I keep mine on a tender, anytime I am not riding. I mostly take short daily rides. So, I may start it up several times in day, with it really only running a few miles. The battery does not have time to recharge between starts.

After any ride it goes back into its bike cave (Garage) and goes on the tender, sears battery tender. Had issues with the battery on our '06 1200 Sporty until I got the tender than no more problems.
