Default From MN to Dallas.. Leaving Tomorrow!

Well everyone, the long ride has been planned out. Our original destination was planned as the Black Hills, but has since changed (since I am the only one of our group that is still going). I am headed out of here on the Dark Night at 1200 hrs tomorrow. Riding solo straight through from Anoka, MN to Dallas (Lewisville), TX. Anything I should know about heading straight down I-35? I figure I have got family down there I can stay with, and want to try to make it to South Padre while I am down there. I'm hoping I don't get too much guff from the boys in blue about my handlebars.. Look forward to the trip, and everything is packed.

Give a honk if you see me fly by!

You better have a rain suit handy as heavy rain is forecast here on I-35 in Missouri. You are a hardy guy to make that long trip without a windshield. Stay safe and happy trails.

Good luck on your trip! Your deltoids will get a helluva workout after gripping those apes for that long of a run.

+1 on the rain suit, also you might want to pack a large trash bag to cover all of your gear if you hit rain.

good luck and stay safe

I've got a FroggToggs rain suit packed that fits over all of my leathers, and also have a rain-wrap for all of the luggage. I think as long as I take it easy, I'll be just fine. What's the rush? I've got 10 days.

I dunno about elsewhere, but down here in Tx you won't have any issues with the fuzz about something like bars... A hell of a lotta bikes here. Enjoy the trip and try not to let the heat and humidity get ya! Be safe.

Take a detour on the way to Padre and ride the three sisters. you can get a hotel room in Bandera for less than $80 on a week night. Well worth the time.
