Question Age Is Taking Its Toll

Hi All,
I lost the index finger on my left hand in a yachting accident 4 years ago.
Over the last few years I have developed arthritus in my other fingers and am having big problems pulling in the clutch on my 2012 Softail.
I don't want to give up my love of bikes, what can I do.
In Australia we don't have the accessory availability that you guys and gals have in the USA.
Is there anything on the market over there that can make life any easier for me.
Suggestions please, automatic clutch, electric clutch, whatever.
Anything to help.

Thanks Frank

It's not what you are looking for I'm sure but I've picked up a Can-Am Spyder with a semi automatic transmission due to an accident(major) I had last year that has made me question my ability to hold the hog up sometimes. It will allow me to keep the knees in the breeze at least should I find I need it. Right now the wife has glommed onto it but it's there if I need it. It might be an option for you as well.

My hands get bad from work and used to cramp horrible in city traffic. Installed labriola jockey shift foot clutch and 1500 miles later I'm a happy boy. Can't take off as quick as I once did but my hand are happy.

I agree with trying a jockey shift.

I feel your pain Dude. I'm not a kid anymore either. There are days my hips, knees and legs hurt so bad I have to force myself on my bike and those days just are not fun riding anymore. I pop pain pills like candy but all that is starting to do is create more problems for me. I guess we have choices but I can't see giving up riding yet, I just can't. I also can't see myself on anything other than 2 wheels. The likes of a trike or CanAm, to me, just isn't riding. I just wake up each day and pray for one more day, one more ride.

Trikes aren't so bad, in fact they can be damn luxurious.
For guys with disabilities or age issues, these things are a godsend, the difference between riding or not riding.

My hands cramp up something awful after only a few miles. Wearing gel padded gloves somehow keeps this from happening.

I would try the EFM auto clutch as already suggested.
