I have seen some tires marked down but i only mostly checked out and bought the tires for my size bike that i needed. I know a Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT 180/55ZR17 rear was $165 from Dennis Kirk and the same tire was about $215 last year. Got a new Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT 120/70ZR 17 for the front for $71 total price off Ebay. 1 1/2 years old. That's a $145 tire new. When i was checking out tires i did notice a lot were marked down from last years prices on the big warehouse websites like Dennis Kirk, J & P Cycles, and a few others. It may have been for sizes that were not big sellers but the size tires i ordered are very commonly used sizes.

I had my last tire installed at a Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki shop. It was the same tire that the HD shop had, even had "Harley" on the side. The tire itself was much cheaper, and I just let them do everything. Remove the wheel, change tires, and remount the the wheel, all for free.

I took my wheel off myself, 10 min job. Tire shop charged €10 to fit tire. Took it back and balanced it and mounted it myself, 30 min job. Painting and polishing the wheel, that is another story and took me way longer.

There's a place near me that charges $29.95 per wheel to mount and balance a tire... IF you bring them the wheel.... To change tires with them removing/reinstalling the wheels, it goes up to a $139.99... Before you think it too extravagant, the dealers around here charge $150/hr labor....

The good part is their tire prices are really good... I just got a set of American Elites for my 2016 Bagger... I checked all over the internet and no one had a better price on the tires than they did...

OOPs.... I got sucked into an old thread... I hate it when that happens...

How long do you guys think it takes a competent mechanic to remove both wheels, change tires, balance and put back? I'm not talking about what they say it takes, but in reality how fast they could do it without stressing or being lazy? I'm thinking 1.5h +/- 30 min?
