Default Turn signal relocation? Why?

When I asked the local dealer about buying a backrest/ sissy bar, they said I would need a turn signal relocation kit. Looking at the location of my turn signals, I can't imagine why. This is my first bike, so I am new to this. Am I missing something? I have included a pic so you can tell me what you think. It looks to me like there is no need to move anything to install a backrest/ sissy bar.

Awesome. Another question- will all Harley backrest/ sissy bars fit my bike, or are they model-specific? They look to be fairly interchangeable (hardware looks to be standard on most models).

Different sizes for some Bikes. 200mm rear tire bikes are wider and so on.

Right. I hadn't thought about tire width. Okay, so as long as I have the right width, I'm good to go?

The distance between the mounting bolts is different between some models too.
