Default Installed a memphis shades windshield WTF is with the Buffeting?

I gotta say the pounding your body takes without the windshield is almost better than the buffeting. Its like someone is jackhammering in your helmet. I had the full face on think:ng it would be a silent ride , smh. What do guys recommend to eliminate this? Right now it follows the rake angle, should I stand it up straighter?

Install some wind deflectors, aka 'Fangs.'

Fork wind deflectors or a higher shield. Maybe both!

what bike?
what size windshield?

I put an 18" H-D quick-detach on my Slim, and the buffeting was mild, although most of it comes from underneath.
The only issue I had with that was the top of the shield was directly in my line of sight.
So I changed that out to a Long Ride Shield's 16" and it's been great.

If your buffeting is worse than riding without a shield, something's not right...
..too small, too short, not aligned properly, etc.

I can ride all day with a baseball cap and a pair of regular sunglasses with no problems.
At my age, anything beats a full-on, non-stop chest pounding at 65MPH...

The height of the shield makes VERY Little diff. A - 15'',16'',18'', or even a 20'' the buffering will be about the same. I've cut mine down twice before I learned that.

As said above the buffering come from under the shield.. Don't believe it.. Next time U ride, put U hand flat with the ground in front of U belly and see how much the air forces it upward.

The Fangs is about the best thing one can do to help buffering.

This issue has been posted in here Hundreds of times for Yrs and the Fangs is always the best fix that works for a Softy.

FWIW, the angle the shield can make a difference as well...

FF helmets are aerodynamically designed for use without a windshield.

Lose the windshield or get an open faced helmet.

Its a softail slim with a del rio windshield . I stood it up movre vertical today to where the windshield contacts the headlight , we'll see how that works when I take it on the highway. When I tuck behind it it is fine at any speed up to 90mph

Get some wind from under my Memphis Shades windshield but not enough to blow my baseball cap off. Try some wind deflectors.

I just put a del Rio on my fxst. Works great. I have it angled a bit more upright to throw the wind higher. It does a great job for its size and looks decent too. Its not near my heritage setup with deflectors and a bigger clockworks shield but its better then nothing when it gets a little colder. Very little buffeting.
