Default Heritage Classic Exhaust

I bought my 1st Harley very late in the year last year so I'm new to this forum as well as Harley. It is a 2013 Heritage classic. I am looking to change the exhaust for something a little louder. I don't think I want to do a full system, so I'm thinking about slip ons. Any advice on what I should or shound't use, and should I wait until there are more miles on it. Less than 300 on it now. Thanks for any suggestions.

I went with Bassani 3" slip ons w/2" baffles and I'm happy with it. By changing the mufflers I also got rid of the cats. (they are in the stock mufflers on the Heritage)

My sig pic shows the slip ons...

2013 Heritage here. With only 75 miles on the bike, I went with Vance and Hines straight shots. Bike now has 4,800 miles and running just fine with the V&H's. I put them on myself in less than an hour.

I put Rush 2'' on mine 7yrs ago at the 1K service along with SERT and a dyno, I was just like you,, din't know what i wanted.. But I knew I was going to add cams soon and that's why I went with the 2''ers..

Then I had 26's added at 15k, almost did another set of pipes but both the wife and I loved the sound of the Rush's.. So they stayed on.

Now at 47K I still have the Rush's on.. and WE still love the sound of them.... Hard to beat for their DEEP and Throaty sound.. and they still look new.. No rust and no bluing,, but its been tuned and that will make the engine run cooler.

Here is a vid I took after I did some more leather work on her last yr..

the engine was cold so I did't rev her much,, about the 1 MIN and at the END I blipped it a couple times.

Also if You don't think you'll ever add cams,, the 1 3/4'' baffles will sound almost the same and actually preform a little better..

Just for sound, slip-ons should do nicely. It may be worthwhile to check out American Custom exhaust. They cut out the cat from the stock mufflers, and provide changeable baffles, depending on the sound you want. Vance and Hines and Rush are also quality pieces. Good luck...
