Default Anyone install engine guard on their CrossBones?

Or other old-style Softail. It may be contradictory to put an engine guard on a bike that was designed to be a bare-bones retro-style Bobber, but if anyone has done it can you post a picture? And, indicate the make of the guard. I am trying to decide if I should go the route. I guess I am getting old and conservative. Thanks.

The 1947 Knucklehead, which most closely resembles the Crossbones, had engine guards, so I think it would look natural. The rest of the bike should match that style though, with narrow beach bars, etc..... There are several Crossbones owners here that have put them on so I'm sure they'll respond soon.

Yes, I read that engine guards were standard equipment when the 1936 EL Knucklehead was introduced.
