Default my still new to me 2000 flstc

hello all, well its been about a month now with the bike. been looking around the forums for as much info i can find. getting used to the sewing machine sound of the tc88, bike running great. a little worried about the camchain tensioners, figuered ill pull the cam cover to inspect after riding season, only a couple more months here in buffalo, ny. concerned that the bike needs enrichener half way out to start when warm. went to pull the plugs only to find them not finger tight then 1/4 turn, just finger tight. seems to running lean, definately NEED service manual to locate the air/fuel mixture screw among other things. owners manual limited. otherwise having a blast with the new toy. ride safe everyone, carl

Thumbs up

Carl your bike looks super nice. Look on ebay for some saggy bag supports for the saddlebags, they will make them look new and very easy to install.

Carl,

Glad to see a Harley owner with the intelligence to know he needs a service manual. The manual will be the best tool in your box. Note: year 2000 Softails have a couple unique (Year Specific) parts such as the Stator, Regulator, and Clutch Basket.

Not sure if yours can be upgraded to the screaming eagle hydraulic cam tensioners, but if they do, Id say best bang for the buck. Many people are reporting 100,000 miles with this setup now days.
