G is exactly right, the bars make the front end on a Springer. Never had apes on mine so I can't respond but I trust G.
Hadn't thought of the trim ring, but he is right if it is jacked a little that headlight is never going to fit correctly.
I'll try the bulb in mine, thanks for the tip G.
Millers customs (www.millerscustomparts.us) which is where I got my replacement scallop stickers isn't showing them in stock for any Bad Boy on the site, their number is: 877.295.9087 I'd call them before trying to paint the scallops.

G is pretty well spot on.love my RB's stock bars fit well with 3" extentions on forwards.the bike was designed to put you a little further forward.other than the black, the bars and seat position were what made it different from the regular springer.i woke my evo up last year with the bolt on s&s super heads.evo heads are great with a little work but i didn't want to wait, the s&s 585 cam works well with the heads, domed pistons and the RB's.like G said, its a torque motor, the high lift cams work greatfor a cheap out on the headlight maybe a coupla little pieces of rubber under the ring will help.believe i would check out the wheel bearing, and your rocker bushings on that front end.i have no trouble turning around on a back road.try slow speed youees by throwing your weight to the outside of the bike,(opposite of direction your turning)took my belt guard off ,. enjoy your time getting familiar with her and keep up to date with pics.i messed up and never got too many before making her mine. enjoy and be safe.......jim

You need to go thru the front end.I can do figure 8's in the motor vehicle test box with mine.It had 54k on it when I got it so I went thru the front end and have no problem locking the throttle and going down the road steering with my *** with no hands. haha good comparison with the muscle cars, that sums it up.
I run a 160 rear. Changed to1-1/8 belt and pulley to get it under there. Getting a 4.25 -18 with a 160 ready now.

Will a front rim from a 2009 night train fit a 1996 bb or are the axles different?

never looked at that James. I know the axle size is different more than likely the center spacing also. The BB front wheel has quite a bit of off set built in.Really depends on hub width, bearings are an easy change. NAPA is your best bet for them. Gonna go check the garage for spacing.Got an 07 Custom to look at.

Looks like it might work with a left side spacer cut off 3/16" and have to look at the bearings. The rotor sides both have 1" offset. 07 hub is 3/16 wider than the Bad Boy's.

Here's the latest:

Bike's at the local stealer right now getting that front end taken care of. I took and there and showed them what I was talking about and they think the bearings and races are shot. I'm also having them get the turn signals working too.

I also ordered a set of Yellow Bad Boy stripes. Got the part numbers from the Harley shop while I was there. Did a quick internet search and saw they are discontinued everywhere. Called Miller Customs, and POW, they have them all!!! So $220 later they are on the way. They aren't cheap, but not as bad as I thought they'd be.

All of this is going to run between $700 and $800 I figure, so I'm spent for now. The next thing will either be the wheels or bars. I did an extensive search last night, and came real close to buying a set of Kustom Khrome Bad Boy bars in black - Part Number 300803. Then I found out they wouldn't fit with the Springer Risers. So I'm on the hunt again. Not sure what I want to do. I like the look of apes, but I liked the feel of the drag bars on the night train. Either way, the risers are going to be the issue. What size risers are you guys running? What size are the stock risers?

stock risers are 6". i have a set of as new Springer chrome 1-1/4" drag bars I'll sell you cheap. PM me for details.
sounds like you are on your way. amazing you have a dealer that works on evo
s. Be forwarned when they take the front end apart and you need bushings your looking at 175. or so just in the bushings.I would suggest you do all the bushings while it's apart to get the springer ride anyway.Don't buy a shock from them if they say you need one.Give you a site on here to get one.Where do you live james ?

They're taking the front end apart. They are definitely doing the bearings. The service manager said that they were going to measure the bushings for tolerance and if they needed to be replaced that they'd replace them. It should come out feeling like a million bucks, I hope...without costing me that much!

I'm in Clarksville, TN, but I'm moving to Milford, KS next month. Ft. Campbell to Ft. Riley.

I don't have a bad boy, but I do have a springer (crossbones). I got Flanders bad boy style handlebars. They have the correct knurled width for the springer risers.

Good luck! Keep us updated on the dealers work/cost!
