Thanks for info,. Drivers Ed, then Motorcycle ed/school. He's got a little work ahead. Service manual is 1st on my list. Just picked up new cover for it. Basically I'm going to have him go through the whole thing before he ever rides it, hahaha. Poor kid, thankfully we have a few family members who ride. Daughters Boy Friend is Mechanic at local Honda/Harley shop. Doesn't work on Harleys though. He wanted to buy the bike from my brother, said it would take 3 grand to get it going. I think he was trying to lowball him on the price though. Either way brother gave to my grandson, so now I have the pleasure of oversite, I can hear you laughing.

Not that it matters that much but are you sure that’s actually a Bad Boy? It looks more like a repainted softail custom,The front forks and handlebars are not correct, the rear wheel is not correct, the dash, the fender supports and the seat are not either.
The factory service manual is the best bet as stated.
even if it is a FXSTSB the only thing that I see beside the air cleaner trim is the black oil bag this bike is missing so much, the Springer is at least 3k to replace.
The air cleaner trim is actually worth money I would sell that to help pay for repairs

looking up parts for the the FXSTSB you may run into “does not fit model” issues so keep that in mind when sourcing parts

That is good, a lot of parts are interchangeable, so that gives you a bigger selection of parts to get you and grandson up and running. The bike as it sits right now, essentially has the components of a FXST which is Softail Custom, the last two letters SB, designated S=Springer and the B=Bad Boy, 95 was the first year of 3 run, 1998 the night train took the place of this model
