Default Lone Star Rally -- afterthoughts?

Wondering what your impressions, both good and bad, were of the Lone Star Rally this year. Heck, if anyone with authority to incorporate changes actually stops by this site, it could have a huge impact on future rallies...

My first comment is that this time of year for the rally is by far better, and therefore much more fun, than in the 95 degree heat of summer! Leathers were not only a fashion statement -- they were necessary for riding -- and walking around in that wind!

I think that the worst part of the weekend was the multiple tragedies of bikers losing their lives -- usually due to over-consumption of alcohol, either on their part or when a motorist did so and hit them. 3 deaths on Friday night that I know of, and another on Saturday night that blocked the causeway around 9:30 for about 1 hour....

Ride safe out there -- and post away on your thoughts / observations (and photos might be good, too!).

an afterthought----- i had the time of my life ! Came from Crowley, LA which was around 3 hr drive.. my first long ride on my new Sportster. I think I will go every year from now on. The only problem is that I want to buy more and more parts for customizing my ride.

As far as the weather, Saturday was very nice for riding. I left on friday from louisiana and it was too damn cold, and sunday morning didnt look too good, so we left early, trying to beat the rain. Never hit a drop So i guess im just lucky.

See yall next year...

Sat. was an awesome day. Good weather, and the women started strippin' off the heavy clothes. This IS when it should be held, mainly to miss the hurricanes. There were plenty of wannabes doin' stupid crap on their rides, and the locals were kinda impatient too. Judging by the condition of that town, they need to see the good that all that $$$$ does for them.

I'll be going next year.

I think there ended up being 6 fatalities in all but all and all it was well done the only thing I would like to see is the seawall section closer to the strand.

The residents may not want their seawall moved so far in

Grunt what I meant is to move that part of the rally closer not the seawall.

But just think the blocks that are past the seawall could use a good cleaning.

This should be the official HDForums Southern Rally point next year. Give you Yanks a chance to experience the good weather this time of year, too.
