The FuelPak FP3 and its use in an engine conversion.
Over the next few months I'm going to be converting my iron 883 to a Hammer Performance 1250cc kit. Now I already have a stage one kit on the bike. Exhaust, air cleaner, and the Vances and Hines FuelPak FP3.
I'm going with just a basic conversion. New cylinders, new pistons, and STOCK 883 heads. I just don't have the money to port my heads and i'm happy with just the basic conversion.
Vance and Hines just released fuel mappings for the Screamin Eagle 1200cc kit. This consists of 1200cc cylinders, and heads made for the 1200. Im thinking I can Put the 1200 mapping on the the 1250cc kit and then auto tune it for the 50cc variance with the kits. Would this be too drastic of a change for an auto tune? What do you guys think.

It looked like a very promising product for me. I got it and the mappings that they created for their exhausts are damn good. But it pretty much ends there. But I do like the fact that it can be updated such as recently with the 1200cc kits, and supposedly in the future it will support cams too.

i think i can answer your question... i bought a 2014 iron 883, then i got vance and hines short shots, intake and FP3. hooked it all up everything worked awesome. i even did the auto tune and made it work a bit better. later in the summer (SEPT or so) i bought a 1250 big bore kit. just the basic bolt on and go. no head work or nothing. V&H didnt have a map for the 1200 kit yet so i was purely relying on the auto tune. i rode it around for half hour and it ran like **** trying to auto tune it. but when i downloaded the auto tune map it ran amazing. just let autotune do its job and you will be fine.

Im new user of FP3 and hope to not screw it on my opinion, but its as simple as "activate --> run --> apply changes".
You need to activate autotune, and go out and ride a lot, when you finish your ride, just apply the autotune proposed map changes and thats it, you can apply and close, or can apply and still maintain autotune open so you keep improving on a next ride cycle over the same autotune map.
