Default Installed Biltwell Recoil grips on 07, 1200C

I installed some Biltwell Recoil grips on my 2007, 1200C.

I wanted a less expensive alternative to the $50-$100 complete grip replacements I see at some of the supplier sights. Searching around I found these Biltwell Recoil grips I liked the looks of. One of the install videos I found showed an easy install of these slip on replacements so I decided to give them a try. These were $17.95 shipped off that auction sight.

My throttle side grip was a pain but still only took about 15 minutes to get all the rubber off. The rubber was chemically welded to the plastic body and had to be scraped and sanded to get most of it off. The rest of the job took about 5 minutes.

Installing was a snap with an air blower. You just need a pointed blower you can direct air under the large opening lip as you push the grip on and it blows the grip up enough that it slides on. I didn't use any adhesive or lubricant to get them on and they are tight and secure.

AND here is a little video of the job.

Any update on how they feel on longer drives? I was looking at these because I need bigger grips the stock ones are just to small and get to my hands after a bit.

I've had a set of them on for the last 10k miles and I absolutely love them. The bigger grip helps my hand fight fatigue and they're incredibly comfortable with and without gloves.

My wife has the white ones and she loves them ! I sprayed a bit of wd40 inside them to slip them on, was easy. They don't slip at all even though I used wd40. If they start to rotate on you, take them off, spray some hair spray inside them and put them back on.

Biltwel makes good products. I have the kung fu grips on my rocker and they are also supper comfortable.

What do you suggest if I don't have a blower? I don't like the idea of leaving WD-40 in there. Maybe a short life lubricant that just dries out?

Wd40 won't hurt the rubber or the paint on the bars. Use just enough on the edge of the bars just to get the grips started. You don't need a hole lot.

I was more worried about it being an issue later on, like grips slowly sliding off.

Couldn't find my WD-40, so I pushed a coat hanger down between the tube and the grip. It helped, but I sure had to muscle that left grip on. Love the way they look. Now just to change my tank to bare metal.

I like that color combo you got going on there man. That brown leather on the seat and tank is nice
