Screamin' Eagle SP will fit 04-07
Like most of us, I went on a search for aftermarket slip-ons to give me something more than the stock sound. Bought a set of Cycle Shack slip-ons, but they were so loud that they literally caused my right ear to be in pain after anything more than a short ride. They're fine for some, I'm sure....but just not my "cup of tea." I did a lot of searching and reading on this forum, and others....looking for something that would give me more sound than the stock pipes...but not as much sound as the Cycle Shacks or Vance and Hines. The research I did seemed to point me in the direction of Screamin Eagle IIs. Unfortunately, HD does not make them any more...so I was SOL.
Then I got excited about the new Screamin Eagle Street Performance slip-ons. Off to my HD I went, only to be told that the SE/SPs would only fit 07 Sporties (the catalog lists them as being for '07s....no other years listed). Disappointed I was...but decided to try another HD dealer to at least get a recommendation. Steve, the parts guy, said..."I'd recommend a set of Screamin Eagle Street Performance slip-ons." "But," I replied...."I have an 06....not an 07." Steve indicated that it made no difference...they would bolt right on.
And bolt right on they did with absolutely no problem. The result....a sound which falls between stock and much louder pipes. Just what I was looking for. I'm a happy camper!
Thought some of you might want to know this in case you were also looking for that "in between sound," but had a Sportie that was older than an 07/
