Default Evolution diamond termintor or barnett scorpion or extra plate clutch pack?

On. 2013 stage 1 1200 sportster. Is it worth going with a full clutch kit like the terminator or scorpion ? In the long run? Or does a 80hp+ sporty not enough power for those? Or is the energy one extra plate kit more then enough? The diaphragm is just lame i love the idea of the 5 springs like in my dirt bike. There is also a small chance ill do cams way down the road.

The stock Sportster clutch is similar to a big twin clutch, in other words it has a healthy safety margin in it! Recent Sporties also have a better design of clutch than my old Evo 1990 big twin, in which I have an S&S 107" engine, with just over 100/100. I have just replaced the original plates with a Barnett clutch +1 plate set, although it's early days yet to comment on it. I did consider a complete clutch replacement, but two local indies said it isn't necessary and the saving on my pocket won the day.

I put a Primo Rivera +1 HD in mine, there again with the 1200 kit it kind of needed it. I'm more than likely going to need to upgrade this one eventually once I figure out cams and what not. If you are thinking of extensive motor work then an upgraded clutch down the line may be a good thing to add to your list, but unless it is slipping or currently needs replaced then you should be fine for now

The rivet plate thing worries me. Do HArley sell a extra plate kit or will they sell you a single friction and 2 steel plates, or do you have to buy the whole lot??

I should have added that you may need a stronger clutch spring with 80HP, which Barnett can also supply.

I don't think that H-D do, unless they sell an SE kit, but firms like Barnett do, which I have. Available here in the UK as well, got mine from JC Motors in London, but there are others.

my question is to switch from the stock diaphragm spring plate. to a full billet basket with 6 coils springs. am I going to get any issues with drag with a scorpion or will i just have a strong clutch, harder pull, but same engagement feel.

In the case of my Glide, I've gone from a stock engine to a tuned build, then to a fresh bigger engine, from roughly 50HP to 80HP to just over 100HP. I needed a beefier spring for both the 80 and 100 builds, so I suspect whichever clutch option you choose to go with you will have a harder pull. I can't see any reason why any clutch change will introduce drag.
