What heat range spark plug do you guys run in your 883 to 1250 conversions. Hammer says colder. How cold.

 

I used stock plugs, no issues, but it was just around town riding.

 

Hammer says go up two heat ranges. Stock is NGK DCPR7E, that would be DCPR9E. I kinda wanted to go up one range to DCPR8E. Just wondered what others were using.

 

I have a DCPR8E in mine and it shows color really well. The way I ride a 9 would be too cold of a plug. I don't particularly hot rod it, though. Commuting and long highway trips. Only pinged a couple times before I figured it out when it was super super hot and I had it heavily loaded and tried to climb a mountain below 3000rpm before I realized I was going slower than I thought. Solved that problem quickly by downshifting.
