Try checking the gas petcock for proper operation. They are vacuum operated on that bike and if the valve is going bad it won't supply enough fuel to the carb. I just changed out the petcock on the wife's 883 because even with my tool pulling 10 inches of vacuum it would hardly flow.

Copy That, Sarge. I am ordering a manual one as we speak from fleabay. It may be something that simple. I don't think it's electrical due to plenty of charge and voltage when running. When when the RPM dips, the tach hits 0 and throws a CEL but goes right out after 4 seconds and doesnt show when I go to retrieve it. At WOT she flys like an Eagle and screams for more. Thanks for your input.

Stereoguy I have the 2003 1200s Sport...a different animal. Has no crank sensor as shown in the YT vid, but instead has the cam sensor/pick-up on the right side of the engine behind the rivited cover. Thanks for your input

True, but i'm starting with the simple things first and dont thinks its electrical...runs fine after 1200 RPM, plenty of voltage at the battery and coil wire as tested by multimeter. Sarge had a good point about the vacuum petcock. Had them go bad on me before, swapped them with a manual one. I'll add your suggest to the list. Thanks!

Check Bank angle Sensor

Trust me, Go out for a ride, coil gets warm and leaking bike sputters to a stop like no fuel. Wait a few and it starts right up, untill you ride a few miles and it shuts off again.
No spark

Close but no (Cuban) cigar...heading on fig.54 says EXCEPT 1200s model. It's like a bastard child. Parts that fit a regular Sporty in that year (96-03) don't fit the Sport model. Frustrating sometimes. Thanks for your input

UPDATE: The Sarge called this one. Bad vacuum petcock. Installed a Biker's Choice manual one and the flow is happening. At idle, mid, and WOT. Thanks all for your ideas and input. Wasn't getting enough fuel at idle.
