Wide Glide Chopper (XLH 2002)
This is my Sportster Hugger 883 XLH2002. Front fender and the engine are everything what's left from original version Purchased as sky-blue stock sporty. Inspiration came from "Grace" FXR Dyna chopper from Pulp Fiction, but went in a little bit different direction during the time. Building took about 4 years, and bike was running all the time. Also HD parts are really hard to find here in Serbia and we didn't have access to ebay&paypal until 2015 :doh Anyway, there's a small community of HD owners here and we mostly know each other, so we manage to find some parts from time to time. All works were done by myself and my brothers at our custom build shop "Chopperheads Garaza" (take a look at more projects on fb).
Bike handles surprisingly good and looks REALLY HUGE. Wheelbase is 181cm (71.2 inch). I'm about 190cm tall and it suits me perfectly. That was the primary goal, cause I've got tired from dumb people calling it "girl's bike"
Rough list of works:
- Frame chopped and extended. Neck raked for about 10c (40c total rake, measured when bike is on the ground). Tank mounts relocated (tank position lifted).
- Stock alloy rims replaced with Dyna 40 spokes, laced rims
- Triple trees replaced with wide glide (240mm) trees (hadmade) - 0 rake
- Ugly eyebrow&headlight replaced with classic chrome headlight
- Stock peanut tank replaced with Dyna Street Bob tank. Original speedo housing modified and integrated into the console. Idiot lights are hand-made from leds. Everything is fully function except fuel-meter. Dyna ignition switch replaced with nice $2 harley skull amblem
- Rear fender replaced with Dyna Wide Glide fender with custom stoplight
- Forward controls added and additionally extended
- Stock exhaust replaced with drag pipes (no baffles)
- Stock seat replaced with more comfortable version
- Ignition switch and coil relocated to the left side
- Stock risers replaced with custom chromed version (shortest)
- Stock handlebar replaced with 16 inch apes
- Stock front tubes replaced with 8 inch overstock + 4 inch slugs added
- Stock shocks replaced with same-length version from Dyna Street Bob (8mm spring diameter instead of 6)
- Custom painjob with airbrush tank amblems

Thanks guys. I've didn't documented the whole project, but here's some details...
This is how it looked like before:\
Tearing apart and frame modification:
The whole front frame part rotated and welded again. Relocating engine brackets:
Painting the frame (mine is on the left side):
Taking opportunity to polish the whole engine:
Putting back engine:
Relocating ignition coil and switch:
Getting rid of fuel remains and gasses from a safe distance
Paintjob, console wiring and putting it all together:
