Default Used the wrong gear oil (Is that okay?)

Did a '20K Service' yesterday on my 2016 Iron 883...

I normally get Mobil1 or Red Line 75w90, but I mistakenly bought the wrong oil: Red Line Oil RED42804 V-Twin Transmission Oil with Shockproof Fluid. Of course, I did not realize this until after I had drained out the oil, so I had no choice but to use this product and ride off.

Question: Should I drain this oil out as soon as possible and replace with the correct gear oil, or is it perfectly fine to use this Transmission oil?

It seems to run fine (very smooth shifting and all) and I was just going to run with it, but the Red Line website says ("Important Note") they do not recommend using V-Twin Transmission Oil or any "Heavy Shockproof" in a Sportster/Buell transmission... and its got me a little worried.

Thanks!

I would not use it. I just did my transmission oil today with BelRay Sport Transmission oil. Had Mobil 1 75W90 but thought I'd try something different. Probably go back to M1 because it's easy to get at Wally world for less. The Bel Ray is red, I think the M1 must be golden brown from what came out, I forgot. Only the normal black frizz on the magnet. Looking good.

$10 for some M1 75W90 is worth it. If it messes with your clutch it's gonna cost you a whole lot more.

just drain it and swing by the autoparts store or walmart and get some mobil 75w90. no harm done. you are good to go.

FWIW, i ran trick shift ATF in my primary for 500+ miles. bike didn't explode but, i didn't care for the shifting and clanks.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Rode to Walmart (got my bike all heated up), bought the right oil, and drained this 'shockproof' oil out of there.

Good deal. I use Red Line 75W90 GL5 gear oil in mine. That's what Dave at Red Line recommends.

FWIW
With an XL wet clutch, I'd do a second flush, as cost is in the $10 range, to ensure clutch fibers are not saturated with the shockproof additive.

I'd follow Kenny's very sound advice.
