Question Removing the rear fender on a Forty-Eight, pros and cons?

Anyone have the rear fender removed or shortened on their Sportster? I've liked the look of the more Cafe Racer-esque Forty-Eights, but there's obviously a trade off since you can't have much of a back seat or storage. It could probably also effect balance and weight of the bike.

Thoughts?

Personally I like the fender just the way it comes from the factory. Seems bobbed enough to me.

West Eagle has a bunch of options of more bobbed rear fenders.
An angle grinder will also do the trick for a little less $

Took mine off and cut the frame. I ran it without a rear fender for a while but like everyone said off you go through a puddle it kicks up water and your back will get wet. I finally got off my lazy bum and cut my rear fender in half. I definitely like the look of a shorter fender.

Now im looking for a way to add a sissy bar but by cutting the frame, I have to find a creative way to mount them.
