Pandora's Box is actually full of all the brands of oil used with Sportsters.

Get ready! You just opened it!!

I use Castrol GTX 20W50 with a Wix 51215 filter for the engine. Currently have Bel Ray Sport Transmission Lube for the gearbox/primary case.

Grab any quality 20w50 synthetic and you really can’t go wrong. Everyone will have there preference. I used Milwaukee twins last oil change because the price was right. Works fine.

Endless debate.

Customized bored out engine?
Head work, cams & valve springs too?

Nothing wrong with Harley synthetic oil.
Especially short rides, little use, annual oil change only.
Many like other brands, the endless debate.

Nothing wrong with OEM oil filters.
Harley has chrome or black filter color options.
Many like MOBIL, K&N & other brands.

As for oil weight...to many variable.
OEM spec is 20/50.

I agree, Harley's Formula Plus oil in trans.

FWIW I use Harley regular 20/50 w/ Harley filter & Formula + in my stock 07 1200N.
