Default Right bike for me

Hello! New to forum and don't have bike yet. Researching/asking lots of questions. Have license but unsure of bike.
Only 5'1", so need lower bike seat height. Looking at sportster, would like 1200 but unless I lower it, still too high for me.
Suggestions? Anybody ride 883? Enough for a new rider? Don't wanna outgrow in 6mon.
Thanks!
Kim

The 1200 low is pretty low, you can get a custom seat built to help lower alittle more.

Test ride them plus there are Low riders too try them test ride before you buy any good HD dealer will let you ride them and will also fit you to the proper sized motorcycle. Once you buy and sign for it its yours so ride them make sure its the bike for you. Good Luck

Welcome, nothing wrong with the 883, it has plenty of power. If speed, and/or being the 'fastest' is your main concern, a Harley isn't for you and you will regret it no matter if it's a 883 OR a 1200. Keep in mind only in the world of Harley Davidson is an 883cc bike considered 'small' or a 'beginner bike' . I've ridden bikes for over 40 years, and I've been down the 'bigger is better' road and found it to be a dead end street.

I'm 5'9" and have no problem with the 883 Superlow I bought last year. I think the 883 Superlow is the lowest seat height Harley offers, could be wrong though. Enjoy whatever you choose!

Thanks for the advise. Appreciate it. I am going to test ride several before I decide. Really think I"m gonna go w/ super low 883.
Really wanted iron 883 to start w/ (craigslist) but think I may be smarter buying from dealer to help set me up right for my first bike.
Super excited to get my first bike. Y'all have insurance recs too? Husband has ultra low (he's 6'5") and rides that just fine. He has Safeco
for bike insurance.
TIA for your help!

Pretty bike. Not wanting it for speed; slowest in my class. You're right. Bigger not always better. May trade up at some
point, but too new to decide that now. Just limited bc of my size (or lack of). I can't wait to get to riding.

If Harley Davidson had asked me what I wanted in a bike, they would have built the 883 Superlow, that is how much I like the bike, it is perfect for me. As far as the Iron, my son bought a '17 Iron and IMO they ride rough, very stiff suspension compared to the Superlow. The Superlow isn't what you could call plush, but it isn't has bad as the Iron. I think you're smart considering going thru a dealer compared to Craigslist for your first bike.

As far as insurance, I have found Markel to be the least expensive. You can get a quote from them online.

I ride a 2014 Iron and love it. The “bigger is better” thought has crossed my mind before, but the Iron does everything I ask of it and is light by H-D standards. My goal has always been a Swiss Army knife kind of bike and the way I have my Iron set up it meets that goal.

I"m 5'2" and found the 48 was the lowest feeling of all of the sporties. I didn't need to lower the shocks on it. With the super reduced reach seat which lowers you another inch and pushes you forward 3 inches, and boots with a two inch heel from Harley, I was good to go. The 48 just, to me, felt a little lighter and nimbler than the others.
