At 35 miles per hour you should at least shift down to 4th gear (owners manual shows downshifting to 4th at 40 mph)
At 35 MPH in 4th you would be about 1900 rpms, I find 3rd works better at 35 mph ~ 2300 rpms.
In 5th gear at 35 mph you would be lugging the engine at about 1600 rpms.

Default Finally

i replaced the sparks plugs with HD ones and adjusted the primary chain as it was loose. I was just going through the owners manual and found this:

Primary chain free play should be inspected at proper intervals and adjusted as necessary. If the chain is allowed to run loose, it will cause the motorcycle to jerk when running at low speed, and chain and sprockets will wear excessively.

I didn't think the primary chain would cause the stuttering but I believe that was the issue all along.

Still have some work to do on shifting. Thanks for all the charts.
