Default Rear turn signal relocation

If someone has already asked this, I apologize in advance. We tried to relocate the rear turn signals on my 07 Sporty this weekend, but there's a clip of some kind that we haven't figured out how to release. Any suggestions from someone who's done the relocation on their Sporty?

I'm guessing you are talking about the clip right next to the nut that fastens the turn signals to their original location? If so, I eventually just pushed the wire up and popped it out of the clip. I wasn't sure what to do about that at first, but I finally realized there was enough space on top of that clip so that I could push the wire out safely. I figured that the sleeve around the wires seemed pretty tough, so it should survive getting pushed out of the clip pretty well.

I had this same problem while installing the hardware for my sissy bar setup. I tried for hours to get that off and then realized it does not come out all the way. To relocate the turn signals you will need a 1/2 or 9/16 open end box wrench and it was a bitch to do. Once I did one side (which took 4 hours) I did the other side in about an hour.

Once you take the nut off , the turn signal will pratically fall off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys! After messing with it a little more, husband has decided to take it to the dealership. Even they admitted it's a pain in the *ss to do. I just hate having to pay $70 an hour to have it done! [:@]

okay sporty owners, I am trying to figure out how to get my rear signals off, I have some chrome covers for the struts that came with the bike that I would like to install. Any advice as to how to get them off would be a huge help! The covers have a cutout for the signal stake, so all I need to get off it the blinker itself
