This is from the manual for a '04 sportster:
Tighten the nut counterclockwise to 50 ft.-lb. (68 N•m).
Tighten the nut an additional 30° until the lockplate holes align.
Do not loosen the nut to align the holes.
If necessary, flip the lockplate over and recheck hole alignment.
Tighten the lockplate bolts to 90-110 in.-lb. (10.2-12.4 N•m).

As promised here are some pics of my roadster with a chain. I did not put the exhaust back on yet. Probably going to buy a new one soon.

I'm really digging the front fairing on your bike also like the exhaust thinking of going for a 2-1 like that

I understand the chain conversion when doing a scrambler type, but why for the road? It is just a prefered look or something more?

I prefer the look of a chain over a belt ive dealt with chains all my life the extra maintinice don't bother me and I hear you get better power transfer with a chain I've not tested that thery out yet becouse there is 10 inches of snow on the ground right now lol

Ok so personal preference. I get that, I wanted to make sure there was no "hidden flaw" in belt drives.
