bought the wrinkle black tall sissy bar for my year 91 sportster. It is a deluxe but i didnt think that mattered. But when i bought my bike it had side plates already and the bar is not wide enough. I know they didnt send me the wrong thing because i tried a friends and it didnt fit either. Any ideas? Thanks

 

I traded my detachable for a fixed bar; the detachable was wider between the plates, which didn't make total sense to me, but there it was. You should get all the pertinent specs for your bike and bar before buying.I would think all Sportsters would haveonesize, but that's what I get for thinking.[:@]

 

Surprizingly, there are some differences in sissy bar widths. JP cycles sells the rigid model that does not accept other types of brands. At least they warn you about that when looking at it in the catalog.
