Hey, pip iam not really sure i would think so because all the brackets do is hold the same square bar they have been using for years, but what do i know i guess youll just have to pay for a way over priced sissy bar.
Hi Pip.
I have just fitted the side plates for a sissy bar. I used Khrome Werks units which are good quality, but I am sure there are others that will fit.
FXDWG (Wide Glide) ones fit fine and are easy to fit.
The only upright that I can find is the genuine HD one which is way too tall - I just want a low bar to keep in style with the low handlebars.
The bar needs to be 9 1/2" wide (outside to outside) and here lies the problem.
The standard widths jump from 8 1/2" to 11", so we may be looking at having to get a custom unit made.
The bar is 9/16" square section, which has been Harley's standard for years, though you could use round bar if you wanted to.
I hope this helps.
Sorry, I should have updated this ages ago! What i did was get aftermarket Wideglide cissy bar brackets and had them bent in 2 places so they were 3/4" closer together at the top.
The engineer did good radiussed bendsd & the plates didn't even need re chroming.
