Default 11 wg sissy bar problem

Well i got the tall hd quick connect sissy bar and the hd mounts. I bought the bar used from someone on here, it looked unopened. But when i try and put it on i have to pry it apart quite a bit. Can anyone post some pics of their mounts and measure how wide the sissy bar is on the bottom?

They are a tight fit. Use a foot and hands and spread it apart slightly.

Are you sure you installed the quick connect mounting spacers correctly?

Yea this is a little more then snug. Its gotta get pulled apart a good 1/2 of an inch. Im not sure if its correct thats why i was looking for a pic of someone elses. I put it on real quick last year before a big trip to laconia and just forced it on but its kinda annoying me so id like to get it right.

As I said it will fit snugly. It keeps it from rattling and having any play. Mine was not quite as yours is but close. Some man handling and manipulation and it fits about perfect now. Its the one piece design that causes each one to be slightly different from another. With side plates and bolt on upright you don't have the full one piece frame that causes the tolerance to be so far off.
